The Augmented Reality Head-up Display

The augmented Reality Head-up display supplements the exterior view of the traffic conditions in front of the vehicle with virtual information (augmentations) for the driver. Together with the HMI team, I developed different scenarios, e.g. navigation. When navigating, a virtual symbol is inserted precisely into the exterior view, and it marks the route that the driver should follow on the road ahead. One important question was to determine in which scenario it makes sense to use the AR functionality and in which one we should use the „static“ graphical representation.

ROLE
My role within the interdisciplinary team (human factor engineering, front-end and back-end developers) was that of the Lead UX/UI Designer. I was responsible for the user interface design and all of the motion graphic elements.
